As Trump now takes immediate actions from the White House, he does so at speed. At a rate which overwhelms any considered reaction, is this the end of democracy in the United States? Some democrats, over social media, proactively call for peace, unity, and accountability for any wrongdoing. Delivered with elegant penmanship, their posts are befitting a different era.
Post November 2024, the increase in speed and precision of Trump Org actions is telling. They point to Project 2025 moving into its ‘action on objectives’ phase. Notable is the praise of Trump from Russia, China and even Iran. Over the past decade, they are also the same hostile states, which are engaging in hybrid warfare attacks on democracies around the globe.
The United States, Oligarchy and Authoritarianism
Hybrid warfare has gone unanswered for too long in the global shadow war. Because of its digital reach, it may be more of a threat to the free world than Hitler’s ‘Third Reich’ was. Society needs to accept that the evolution of technology has surpassed their understanding of it. The resulting grey-zone is being actively exploited by malicious state and non-state actors.

Over the years, American big-tech has made efforts in some quarters to self-regulate. In other quarters, they have been brazenly predatory in their actions. ‘Deploy fast, fix later’, is a more than just acceptance of limited success because of commercial pressure. It’s a vulnerability, that in some quarters, is being exploited at the expense of digital users and their host society.
Americans, for over 280 years, have seen tough times living with systemic racism, bigotry, and social inequality. For all the suffering of those who toiled under the industrialist whip, we may yet bear witness to its resurgence. Let’s hope I am wrong, but reality rudely tells me otherwise.
Trump Fronts For Like-Minded Authoritarians and Oligarchs
Digital subversion, hybrid warfare, military action, and social instability. Does it all tie together? Is the exploitation of Americans to seat Trump in power the ultimate aim? To answer this, we must deconstruct the false narrative premise, pushed with unprecedented repetition, and scale, on Americans.
Resetting the contextual frame of what is happening sets the context for a correct interpretation of facts. It also develops information resilience to well-crafted deception. Social media platforms have been an underpinning key to hybrid warfare success, both in the United States and all also in Europe.
Bearing this in mind, Trump’s ascension to power is not actually making America great again. Correctly framed, it is part of a powerful transnational alliance of like-minded authoritarians. This includes public partners like Russia, China, and Iran. With its public/private composition, they are a powerful entity in today’s shadow war.
Yet, for such hybrid warfare to succeed, it must also have roots in a target nation’s past. An example of this is the ‘far-right’ in the United States. US religious-right, neo-nazi right, white-supremacists, and neo-conservative movements all put their differences aside to join a common cause.
They committed to the replacement of what is, with what they consider to be a better world from their perspective. I can say with confidence that this predates the international rise of digital subversion in 2013.
Trump Today Will be Vance Tomorrow, Project 2025
Trump’s blanket reversals of President Biden’s national security decrees to economic threats of EU allies. You can frame Trump’s actions as serving international interests and his own. They also come with deep roots into the worst aspects of culture in the United States. While his team at Trump Org are crafty in covering for their boss, they are equally adept at enacting features of Project 2025.
Political subversion is only one aspect of what the wider alliance does. I see upgraded disinformation tactics on all social media platforms, which now include a quality platform like LinkedIn. They scheme to re-ignite social disruption via clever false narratives and clever tactics. This is but a snippet of a range of activities that are ongoing in the United States, and, increasingly, in Europe.
Denmark has protested hybrid warfare actions by Russia regarding the Artic. From forging official documents to complacent recipients, to espionage and more, Denmark’s rebuke of Russian meddling is clear. On a related note, I wonder if Americans know Greenlanders do not want to join the United States?
The German Ambassador to the United States warned he expects Trump will seek to subvert the US Constitution with maximum power in his hands at the expense of Congress and the Senate. He also expects Trump will co-rule with big-tech. I wonder if Americans know what they have actually voted for?
This warning not only sounds out to the American people. It sounds out to all democratic nations across the globe who are grappling with the effects of this new world order, and its alarming similarity to the older one we left behind. Let’s not repeat the ignorance of our forefathers. Tomorrow is still to play for.
