Thanks to the ongoing global info war, world has become increasingly dangerous of late. As Trump org in the United States continues with its disemboweling of US democracy, long-standing adversaries of the West advance their hybrid warfare agendas. It’s a well-documented fact that western democracies have been on the back foot for years regarding this new form of warfare. Is it now too late to respond?
Aligned and forcefully harmonious, nations like Russia, Iran and China move forward below the threshold-of-war. As an alliance of aligned interests, they do not share the same values as each other. As the old saying goes, ‘be careful what you wish for, as it may become true.’
Info War Has More Bite In Its Bark
Russia’s partners in Iran and China joined the effort regarding Denmark as far back as 2022. While they denied the Danish allegations, they were, and are, actively involved in this ‘below-the-threshold of war’, hybrid strategy against the West. They add weight and aid to a faltering Russia, who cannot defeat Ukraine via any means allowed by their alliance.

With orchestration penetration into American social media platforms, the public/private nature of authoritarian-alliance membership becomes brazenly clear. The out-of-control proliferation of disinformation, which is meant to overthrow western governments, takes a quantum leap in access and impact.
As an example, Elon Musk’s public stage shows on X regarding overthrowing the UK Government is a brazen display of this new power. Add Trump org attacks on the EU, and other European nations. When you do, you can see a pattern of brazen hubris, masking a deeper hybrid warfare strategy.
Russia Wins From The Shadows
This extraordinary alliance of public/private authoritarian adversaries has used our unwillingness to restrict freedoms for our nation’s citizens. In cases like X, they act brazenly above EU law. They also make no apologies for throwing insults and prevarications against law makers attempting to rein them in. This is material aid to Russia in her illegal campaign of European conquest.
American Social media platforms rendering material assistance to Russia has many consequences. It has emboldened Trump org in its authoritarian takeover of the United States. Trump’s so called MAGA movement rose under the noses of the American political elite. It is now an export. MAGA fanatics coming to Europe are actively looking to recruit like-minded (aka. indoctrinated via digital means) locals.
Trump’s Info War Exports
A notable MAGA fanatic in Ireland is the MMA Fighter and exposed rapist Conor McGregor. His attraction to violence is now obvious to all, as he shows it to anybody who disagrees with him via his aggression and contempt. His visit to the White House on Saint Patrick’s day 2025 was a preamble. He misrepresented Ireland with Donald Trump and had a recent encore at his pub in Dublin.
In his Dublin pub, he hosted notorious liar and Putin propagandist, Tucker Carlson. They held McGregor’s apparent launch of what looks like MAGA Ireland. Despite less than 7% of the Irish public falling for his deluded rants, he insists he is the man as Irish President to ‘fix the constitution.’ He also says other things which bear little resemblance to reality. He must expect to get protest votes, which are manufactured by digital subversion against the Irish people.
Freedom Needs A Perceptual Upgrade
The way out of orchestrated multi-channel campaigns to gaslight us all into submission may appear impossible. However, when we become information resilient, we can divorce appearance from reality to find solid ground. There, we can see how the age of the con and the bluff are as potent as any airstrike or invasion army.
Breaking with the weaponized false narratives of our adversaries from all quarters is our first step. Having the confidence to research techniques in information resilience, and engage with our fellow disinformation victims is our next step. The incremental struggle to become information resilient never gets easier. It does, however, become easier, as we build expertise in our resilience, which no trickery can truly defeat.
