Human nature is like a protostar. Amid the chaos, we struggle to establish our reason for existing in a universal tapestry. The many attempts to answer this question have but one thing in common. They all accept that we, as a species, are on our own journey inside a universe, as it expands, and ultimately dies. Can quantum tech fit on top of these big picture questions?
Some answers may explain the many dead ends humankind has driven itself into. Civilizations rise and fall, as do epochs. In our time, we are seeing an exciting change happening. Even so, we can fall victim to the many lies and innuendos designed to misdirect us from the perceived power centers of the day. However, the truth is rising for more and more people that persist in the face of distraction.
Science Looks To The Small, To Answer The Big
One of the reasons I am writing a web serial in the science fiction genre is my unending admiration for actual science and those who practice it. In our sci-fi world, the seekers of truth often take the protagonist role in some marvellous stories, yet in the real world, that role falls to the scientist. These real life action heroes answer more and more big picture questions via quantum physics.

In the quantum world, we find so many clues to big questions like why we are here, how we are here, and what is the best path ahead? I am sure an entire volume of works could not cover the enormity of its importance, nor the vulnerability of our future. As conventional technology reaches limits such as Moore’s Law on exiting chips, quantum technology plots an alternative course.
Quantum Tech Refocus, The Road Ahead
As Ford’s Model T replaced horses, digital computers replaced valve computers, quantum computers will replace digital computers in a viable future. Science, despite those who attack it, will enable its supporters, and detractors, to benefit in ways otherwise lost to humanity.
Risk and reward, dedication to facts rather than ‘truths’, and passionate committal to a successful outcome are hallmarks. They mark science’s breakthrough into the quantum world. Quantum tech has become a focus of what we currently know. It also awaits more and more of this world’s secrets as they become understood.
Quantum Teleportation Is Here
The latest quantum technology advancement is teleportation. Like something from my sci-fi web serial, Hindsight Station, scientists have set up a distributed quantum technology stack. They can teleport trapped ion modules between two Qubit networks. Think information in point A instantaneous appearing in point B.
This atomic teleportation using local quantum entanglement is instantly moving quantum information from one network to another. As amazing as it is, this is just the beginning of our left turn away from the fast approaching dead end that humanity is facing in its development.
Our past is littered with bitter detractors saying we cannot do this or that. Fact is that we must do this or that, in order to ensure our continuing journey on the little blue dot we call home. From there, our future among the stars awaits us.
