On November 11th, 2025, I launched my science fiction web serial Hindsight Station: Ashes Reborn, the opening story in the Hindsight Station saga. The story originally released with free to read chapters on Wattpad while advance chapters were available to supporters on Patreon. Three months later, I’ve made an important change to how the story is published.
The first part of the Hindsight Station series is now completely free to read on Wattpad. This shift reflects a simple idea: the beginning of any epic saga should be open and accessible to readers everywhere.
Why I Removed the Patreon Paywall For Free to Read
If you were a supporter on Patreon, nothing changes for you. Patrons still retain access to the chapters available through their membership. However, I’ve decided to remove the paywall for the web-serial phase of Hindsight Station: Ashes Reborn so new readers can easily discover the story.
Originally:
– Early chapters were free on Wattpad
– Advanced chapters were posted on Patreon
Now:
– Wattpad chapters will be brought fully up to date
– The complete first arc of Ashes Reborn will be available to everyone
For a new science fiction series, accessibility matters. The first entry into a universe should invite readers in rather than place barriers in front of them.
About the Sci-Fi Series: Hindsight Station
Hindsight Station: Ashes Reborn takes place roughly three hundred years in the future. Technological expansion, fragile alliances, and the resilience of humanity shape this universe. The story follows James Fong and the team stationed at Ardland Prime. They must navigate the uncertain future of a civilization rebuilding itself among the stars.
While the story is rooted in science fiction, it also blends elements of thriller storytelling and character-driven drama. The technology and spacefaring setting serve as the backdrop for what ultimately remains a human story. Good science fiction explores the relationship between humanity and the technology it creates—and the consequences that follow.

As I updated my author website today to reflect these changes, one thing became clear: community matters more than ever in storytelling. Like many writers balancing creative work with everyday responsibilities, I now write part-time. That means time itself becomes a precious resource. Because of that, focusing on engaged readers and an accessible community is the right direction for this project.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be increasing chapter releases on Wattpad so readers can catch up as Ashes Reborn moves toward its conclusion.
