I took some time this morning to ponder world politics after the Trump org won the US Presidential Elections. Notable reports of cheating aside, how does Europe, the home of America’s closest allies, view this victory?
The MAGA movement continues to badger anybody in the United States and abroad with their ‘truths’. Some are so ridiculous, I consider them gaslighted human beings living in a manufactured reality. The same problem does not yet apply to Europe.
Where Politics and Hybrid Warfare Collide
The transnational backers of the Trump org are very busy over the last few years. They peppered the EU, UK and other democratic nations with hybrid warfare campaigns that range from disinformation campaigns to full-blown hybrid warfare engagements. The brazen escalation of Russian espionage on the run up to the EU elections last June is telling. It is circumstantial evidence of Russia’s worry about their progress in Europe.
Hybrid warfare is multifaceted and compartmentalized by design. Information dissemination is on a strict need to know basis, which separates accountability of the proxy from its controlling host. The proxy carries the risk, thus protecting the host. This disciplined form of warfare also explains the ignorant position Vance maintained in his interview with Shawn Ryan, which was reported on by independent.co.uk.
US Vice-President Elect Threatens Europe
In this interview, Vance states in relation to Europe, “The leader, I forget exactly which official it was within the European Union, but sent Elon this threatening letter that basically said, ‘We’re going to arrest you if you platform Donald Trump,’ who, by the way, is the likely next President of the United States”.
His views are markedly one of retaliation against the EU’s right to enforce its own laws. He goes onto implicitly threaten the European Union by withdrawing support for NATO if they don’t back down from censuring Elon Musk and his subversive activities on TwitterX.
Leaving aside his condescending and inflammatory soundbites about us in Europe been a backward collection of countries, he then lays out Russian terms for Putin’s next deception, which is one of apparent peace. He’s sets out existing Russian terms for Russia holding onto sovereign Ukrainian territory, in exchange for a ‘promise’ of peace.
Holistic Approaches to Politics Needed With Trump
The disgusting gaslighting of the United States citizenry by this transnational alliance of hostile state actors and avarice laced non-state actors is, for now, complete.
As Betrand Russell once said, “The first step in a fascist movement is the combination under an energetic leader of a number of men who possess more than the average share of leisure, brutality, and stupidity. The next step is to fascinate fools and muzzle the intelligent, by emotional excitement on the one hand and terrorism on the other.”

What Vance has shown is that the Trump org has misunderstood its impact on the American psyche. They believe they have the entire country under the spell of their indoctrination. In fact, they only have indoctrinated segments of the population.
This does not spell absolute control for their fascist agenda, but it can spell civil war in the United States, if stoked into serious escalation by their shadow Russian partners. Russian-led pubic/private information networks, not the Trump org, maintain the power to use this powerful strike capability.
He also assumes the same absolute level of indoctrination of European countries. There is a radicalized support cohort for Trump in nearly all European nations. However, as the EU elections have proven, it is relatively minor for now, but serves as a nebulous for aggressive disinformation campaigns by the same transnational alliance.
Deception is a key tactic of Vance, as he portrays fantasy as fact in a cruel and well-designed word play. It fools us into a hazy submission. The EU is currently planning its next steps in relation to Elon Musk’s infractions, and does so with our support.
Europe Remembers
Vance’s hubris seems to have lost sight of our societal memory of total-destruction in Europe during World War 2. This also includes why we will never be subject to such fascist tyranny again. It leaves us in Europe with no choice but to grow up and protect ourselves from an emerging threat.
It is coming this time, from many sides, including the United States. Rebalancing NATO to an even keel of participating nations is one obvious remediation point in any solution. European defence spend to fund Europe based mil-tech companies producing weapons for a defensive European military is another. These, along with reeling in the impact of digital subversion, are examples of what we need to address.
Honestly, such changes will leave a bitter taste in my mouth, as a practical advocate of democracy and peace. However, I would prefer that then handing away the future of my nation, and our European family, to the fascist ideologies that once again threaten us. Our children’s children deserve better.
