Bold Russian Espionage Heats Up Disinformation In Europe

Just days ago, CNN ran with an article about Russian surrogates becoming brazen in planning acts of sabotage that breaks with recent espionage levels in Europe. Their target is United States military personnel and facilities. Access is via local surrogates, yet their real motive is unclear.

Russia and her ‘quiet’ partners have been very busy with their current plans against the West. Their actions appear to be motivated by a common hatred of democracies. That said, when you study the facts around this shadow-offensive, it uncovers deeper, and more disturbing, motives.

Connecting relevant events is tricky, but Russia’s actions, via its surrogates in the last few weeks, have made this task far easier. Let’s start and finish with the United States. This makes sense, given the United States military is currently an offensive focus for Russia in Europe.

US Presidential Debate Targeted by Disinformation

The US Presidential Debate of 2024 once again showed me how unhinged Donald Trump really is. The real takeaway was not until afterwards, as I noted dubious and biased extracts of the presidential debate over social media. In the last two weeks, approximately a dozen vocal detractors of President Biden within the Democratic Party seem to have let disinformation unduly influence their post-debate decision making.

President Biden is reporting as having a life long history of verbal gaffes, making more spectacular ones at key times. Yet, those who to claim to be democrats seem to set aside the risks of Donal Trump. They also seem to disregard the relevant history of President Biden’s stutter and verbal gaffes. This indicates they are either using the opportunity for ulterior motives, or have fallen into the perception changing rabbit hole of accepting disinformation as facts in their thinking.

The timing of this is also suspicious as it is on the run up to arguably the most important US election since the 1960s. Facts are President Biden took over from the worst president in US history. He has managed, despite toxic politics, to turn America around in the face of brazen opposition from the GOP. It’s my contention that the GOP in its current form appears hostile to the constitution of the United States, and her people.

Travelling over the ocean to the French general elections, where trouble brewed with all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation. A media assured success for the far-right took aim at us English speakers across several reputable platforms. It turned out to be a slap in the face for Marie Le Pen and her far-right National Rally party.

Russian Subversion in France

Disinformation fuelled her rise, emboldened her most impassioned supporters, and nearly pulled off a spectacular power grab under the noses of the French people. However, her pro-Putin, pro-Russian agenda, has been clear for many years. Many see it as just another day in politics, but the EU election success of her National Rally party spurned a French general election.

French cultural heritage remembers tyranny under monarchs, and (far-right) nazi occupiers. A party like the National Rally party who holds dear the values of France’s old enemies can only hide their true nature for so long. Even supported by Russian disinformation, they were unsuccessful in the face of such a deep cultural heritage.

Now, French prosecutors in Paris have opened an investigation into the National Rally party. They are investigating fraud, embezzlement, and forgery, in relation to the 2022 elections. This is around the same time that a record turnout of the French people made their views clear at the ballot box. Fascism is not welcome in France!

There are too many related events in Europe for this article, so I will move back to the United States. The continued media reporting about a minority of Democratic Party detractors of President Biden is alarming. Their reporting comes across as derisory and dismissal of a man who performed arguably the hardest political clean up in US history.

Russian Espionage in support of Project 2025?

2016 saw Donald Trump elected on foot of apparent Democratic Party subversion, and its threatens once again. This time, it can happen despite all that President Biden achieved with his office, and promises to do if elected for a second term. What also drew my attention was more careless talk from Donald Trump, which points this time, to Project 2025.

Project 2025 is a clear internal threat to America. I find the media silence on this is as disturbing as the toxic neo-conservative agenda it supports. To remake the United States, requires a long and clear path of espionage activities to support such goals. However, in today’s real-world, we all need to become bastions of vigilance and protection of all we hold dear. Freedom to live free of tyranny, and become who we can reasonably be, is not a gift from a generous ruler. They are characteristics of human will, and fundamental to who we are as a species. Don’t let Russian spy tricks and neo-agendas rob you of this! It’s more precious than gold, and irreplaceable to the human spirit.
